0too%20DEPENDABLE%20not%20to%20be%20on%20the%20job%2C%20according%20to%20promise%20or%20plan.%20He%20will%20never%20become%20a%20vital%20factor%20in%20industry%20until%20he%20learns%20to%20put%20into%20his%20work%20the%20vitalizing%20force%20of%20initiative%2C%20skill%20and%20dependability.%20He%20has%20gone%20%E2%80%9CRIGHTS%E2%80%9D%20mad%20and%20%E2%80%9CDUTY%E2%80%9D%20dumb.%3C%2Fp%3E%0A%3Cp%3E8.%C2%A0%3Cstrong%3EThe%20Negro%20Must%20Overcome%20His%20Bad%20Job%20Habits.%3C%2Fstrong%3E%3Cbr%2F%3E%E2%80%A2%20He%20must%20make%20a%20brand%20new%20reputation%20for%20himself%20in%20the%20world%20of%20labor.%20His%20bad%20job%20habits%20are%20absenteeism%2C%20funerals%20to%20attend%2C%20or%20a%20little%20business%20to%20look%20after.%20The%20Negro%20runs%20an%20off%20and%20on%20business.%20He%20also%20has%20a%20bad%20reputation%20for%20conduct%20on%20the%20job%E2%80%94such%20as%20petty%20quarrelling%20with%20other%20help%2C%20incessant%20loud%20talking%20about%20nothing%3B%20loafing%2C%20carelessness%2C%20due%20to%20lack%20of%20job%20pride%3B%20insolence%2C%20gum%20chewing%20and%E2%80%94too%20often%E2%80%94liquor%20drinking.%20Just%20plain%20bad%20job%20habits%21%3C%2Fp%3E%0A%3Cp%3E9.%C2%A0%3Cstrong%3EHe%20Must%20Improve%20His%20Conduct%20In%20Public%20Places.%3C%2Fstrong%3E%3Cbr%2F%3E%E2%80%A2%20Taken%20as%20a%20whole%2C%20he%20is%20entirely%20too%20loud%20and%20too%20ill-mannered.%3Cbr%2F%3E%E2%80%A2%20There%20is%20much%20talk%20about%20wiping%20out%20racial%20segregation%20and%20also%20much%20talk%20about%20achieving%20integration.%3Cbr%2F%3E%E2%80%A2%20Segregation%20is%20a%20physical%20arrangement%20by%20which%20people%20are%20separated%20in%20various%20services.%3Cbr%2F%3E%E2%80%A2%20It%20is%20definitely%20up%20to%20the%20Negro%20to%20wipe%20out%20the%20apparent%20justification%20or%20excuse%20for%20segregation.%3Cbr%2F%3E%E2%80%A2%20The%20only%20effective%20way%20to%20do%20it%20is%20to%20clean%20up%20and%20keep%20clean.%20By%20practice%2C%20cleanliness%20will%20become%20a%20habit%20and%20habit%20becomes%20character.%3C%2Fp%3E%0A%3Cp%3E10.%C2%A0%3Cstrong%3EThe%20Negro%20Must%20Learn%20How%20To%20Operate%20Business%20For%20People%E2%80%94Not%20For%20Negro%20People%2C%20Only.%3C%2Fstrong%3E%3Cbr%2F%3E%E2%80%A2%20To%20do%20business%2C%20he%20will%20have%20to%20remove%20all%20typical%20%E2%80%9Cearmarks%2C%E2%80%9D%20business%20principles%3B%20measure%20up%20to%20accepted%20standards%20and%20meet%20stimulating%20competition%2C%20graciously%E2%80%94in%20fact%2C%20he%20must%20learn%20to%20welcome%20competition.%3C%2Fp%3E%0A%3Cp%3E11.%C2%A0%3Cstrong%3EThe%20Average%20So-Called%20Educated%20Negro%20Will%20Have%20To%20Come%20Down%20Out%20Of%20The%20Air.%20He%20Is%20Too%20Inflated%20Over%20Nothing.%20He%20Needs%20An%20Experience%20Similar%20To%20The%20One%20That%20Ezekiel%20Had%E2%80%94%28Ezekiel%203%3A14-19%29.%20And%20He%20Must%20Do%20What%20Ezekiel%20Did.%C2%A0%3C%2Fstrong%3E%3Cbr%2F%3E%E2%80%A2%20Otherwise%2C%20through%20indifference%2C%20as%20to%20the%20plight%20of%20the%20masses%2C%20the%20Negro%2C%20who%20thinks%20that%20he%20has%20escaped%2C%20will%20lose%20his%20own%20soul.%20It%20will%20do%20all%20leaders%20good%20to%20read%20Hebrew%2013%3A3%2C%20and%20the%20first%20Thirty-seven%20Chapters%20of%20Ezekiel.%3Cbr%2F%3E%E2%80%A2%20A%20race%20transformation%20itself%20through%20its%20own%20leaders%20and%20its%20sensible%20%E2%80%9Ccommon%20people.%E2%80%9D%20A%20race%20rises%20on%20its%20own%20wings%2C%20or%20is%20held%20down%20by%20its%20own%20weight.%20True%20leaders%20are%20never%20%E2%80%9Cthings%20apart%20from%20the%20people.%E2%80%9D%20They%20are%20the%20masses.%20They%20simply%20got%20to%20the%20front%20ahead%20of%20them.%20Their%20only%20business%20at%20the%20front%20is%20to%20inspire%20to%20masses%20by%20hard%20work%20and%20noble%20example%20and%20challenge%20them%20to%20%E2%80%9CCome%20on%21%E2%80%9D%20Dante%20stated%20a%20fact%20when%20he%20said%2C%20%E2%80%9CShow%20the%20people%20the%20light%20and%20they%20will%20find%20the%20way%21%E2%80%9D%3Cbr%2F%3E%E2%80%A2%20There%20must%20arise%20within%20the%20Negro%20race%20a%20leadership%20that%20is%20not%20out%20hunting%20bargains%20for%20itself.%20A%20noble%20example%20is%20found%20in%20the%20men%20and%20women%20of%20the%20Negro%20race%2C%20who%2C%20in%20the%20early%20days%2C%20laid%20down%20their%20lives%20for%20the%20people.%20Their%20invaluable%20contributions%20have%20not%20been%20appraised%20by%20the%20%E2%80%9Clatter-day%20leaders.%E2%80%9D%20In%20many%20cases%2C%20their%20names%20would%20never%20be%20recorded%2C%20among%20the%20unsung%20heroes%20of%20the%20world%2C%20but%20for%20the%20fact%20that%20white%20friends%20have%20written%20them%20there.%3Cbr%2F%3EThe%20Negro%20of%20today%20does%20not%20realize%20that%2C%20but%2C%20for%20these%20exhibits%20A%E2%80%99s%2C%20that%20certainly%20show%20the%20innate%20possibilities%20of%20members%20of%20their%20own%20race%2C%20white%20people%20would%20not%20have%20been%20moved%20to%20make%20such%20princely%20i
